The ring was made by Dreamworks, a company that are mostly well known for there animated kids films.

There is narrative differences between the two films. The americans have had a large influence from other film directors such as Hitchcock and Kubrick. These are two very influential people and the american film reflects what the stereotypical american film would be like.
